pesticide application

The approvals for the active ingredients captan (CAS no. 133-06-2), folpet (CAS no. 133-07-3) and metrafenone (CAS no. 220899-03-6) have been extended by the EU Commission until 31 October 2039.

There are still restrictions for captan. During the flowering period - including that of weeds - the fungicide must not be applied outdoors to protect pollinating insects.

The use restriction for folpet as a fungicide will not be maintained. However, due to the high risk to fish and aquatic invertebrates, certain conditions for the authorisation of plant protection products containing folpet should be adhered to.

The currently applicable maximum residue levels remain in force with the following national exception:

For the use of the active substance in the plant protection product Folpet 80WDG as part of an emergency authorisation against scab infections in pome fruit in the Lake Constance region (Germany), the permissible maximum residue level was increased nationally from 0.3 mg/kg to 6 mg/kg. The exemption only applies to goods that are traded within Germany.
